Matt, call your states attorney generals office. Every state is a little
different, I know of no state that says the equipment is yours, you are
a sub contractor so your only lien is against the other shop. When I
worked for Monkee Wards I went to court for them a dozen times,
(I was lead tech so it was part of the job) The only case we ever lost
was because a departing Service manager had thrown out a customers set,
the judge gave this guy $525.00 for a 6 year old 25" Magnavox tv that we
couldn`t fix, and then went on to explain that the customers property is
never the property of the "repair center" unless the customer gives the
repair center "Written authorization" to dispose of the set. Be very
carefull with a customers property I guess is the moral of this story
or it will cost YOU, Larry E
