Al,
When you use one of the generic flybacks the ferrite core will lay across a
jumper wire that is a B+ potential. It must be removed and reinstalled on
the underside of the board to prevent a dead short to the ferrite core. The
original flybacks had a core that came up above the base of the board and
would not touch this jumper.
