I am fed up with training. The last seven schools I have traveled to don't
even send you certificates. One school was a 8 hour drive. Sony sends them
to you and you don't even have to leave the shop with online training. I
love all this Kine stuff, why don't they just say CRT, are they trying to
make it seem more complicated. I also sure don't want to learn technology
that hasn't even happened yet, it is liable to change 10 times before it
hits production. The CRT may be going by the wayside, but..they are stacked
up in the shop right now. I don't know about the rest of you but..I like my
customers to see that we have been trained, That is all our customers care
about, prove to me you have been trained. Other than that what good is
training, It sure hasn't help me fix a TV. And when you call the tech Assist
lines it is like watching a dieing dog, I love when they tell you to call
them back when I find the fix. It is amazing how cheap and lazy some
Manufacturers are getting. Don't they realize simple certificates and a few
coffee mugs works wonders for Servicer-Manufacturer relationships. Plus,
this is lightning season in the southeast, the busiest time of the year,
great time to plan schools, August and September. I have never figured that
one out. I bet the schools would be full in March when we are twiddling our
thumbs. Sorry about this but..if we can't be honest here, what good is this?

It also means the projection CRT's, the display
tube in your o'scope, and the computer monitor that
most of us still have.
Kine is the older term for CRT/ Cathode Ray Tube.
Some of us old timers call capacitors condensers.
Just a different age, although, I've seen some
modern schematics refer to "kine" drive.
