Actually the 39uf cap is the one that WHACKS the chopper
transistor....gets
leaky, adds DC to the AC signal and just turns that chopper on harder
until
it dies a day later....
The 2.2 uf, when it dries out causes the standby 143 to rise as high as
170V
dc....
Now there's one other that can mess with you.....It's the 180uf B+ cap
on
the secondary....I've had 2 or 3 that when they go bad, it won't
startup,
and measuring the 143V supply in standby you will see it sitting at 143,
then it drifts up to 152, then down, then up to 170, then down and it
sticks
at one voltage for a bit....that's because you get HASH on the DC
voltage
and it fools your meter...but not a scope....
