In 35 years of repair, I have been shocked many times, the
trick is , keep one hand behind your back when in a dangerous
area.
I have been hurt worse from the 110 v. AC than from the
flyback.
as for hi amperage, it will make a horrible spark that can
burn you even if you are not shocked. 
I believe amperage is like water, which is more dangerous?? 10
feet or 1000 feet deep swimming area.
