hi Jeff
d1409 was suspect leaky. I checked the caps on power supply they check ok.
If I unplug A3 plug from the main board standby voltages and B+ checks ok
when the relay clicks on. when A3 plugged in B+ comes up to 70-80v and shuts
down.

Ken,
Check caps in power supply...
You could help yourself if when you mentioned parts you replaced...if they
tested bad, or you replaced by
assuming it was bad...in other words, was D1409 shorted, leaky or suspect
leaky.
More details will yield more responses.

problem relay clicks on and off, hv comes up and turns off.
checked horiz drive, B+, standby voltage.
resoldered IC581 and 582
replaced d1409

any hv shut down tips will be helpful
