The color on this 32" sony would all of a sudden go, leaving a nice
black and white picture. It seemed changing stations, turning it off/on,
anything could "pulse" the color back.
I pull boards, resoldered edge connectors on the A and E board to no
avail. Resoldered all over the main board. But, if I flexed the main
board upward, or tapped any "daughter" boards,(or breathed on them!)the
color would kind of barberpole and go to B&W.
/FINALLY... /I noticed on the very end module, *the B board with the
audio outputs on it, also had RGB circuitry.*
I pulled that board to find tiny micro-cracks all over, especially the
edge connectors.
*Resoldering the B board restored solid color.*
Dog set. Problem was so intermittant normal troubleshooting really
didn't apply.
