I had the same model monitor about 2 months ago with the same exact problem.
The focus would jump out intermittently.
I changed the focus block. No help.
The vert & horz pulses do not change when the focus goes out.
The focus voltages do not change at the crt.
If I would unplug the crt board (while the monitor was on) and plug it back
in, the focus would also change.
I concluded it was the crt, since the voltages or the pulses were rock
steady.
I do have the service manual in pdf form, if you want it. I can try and
email it to you. It is about 7 meg in size.
