I tried to give a general answer because there are all sorts of things that create a reel stop other than the sensor itself. If its optical, the mirror or the led or sensor could just be dirty. Sometimes a piece of paper gets under there. On one vcr, the mirror was just glued on to the reel and had fallen off. Glued it back on.
