My former camcorder tech could probably have answered that question. For me,
I look at the date of mfr and compare it with the OEM models for that year.
As for the tape problem, change the pinch roller before doing anything else.
I see we have a bunch of those camcorders in our boneyard because people did
not want to pay for fixing the capacitor problems.
