[TechAssist] Re: Samsung TXG2746 turns off when volume is adjusted

Well, I reset the TV and now the set is working normally. One thing I
could have done was copied down the parameters for the geometry and
especially the drives and screens before I reset the TV. My question
now is, what caused the eeprom to get corrupted in the first place? Do
I need to replace it?

Kevin,
From Tech Repair CD:
Samsung\TXG2746\Volume at max and adj vol- shuts down the set\\\\Using
the r/c* enter the factory mode by
pressing mute* 1*8*2* and power. This brings up the svc menu. Scroll
down using the CH button on the
remote to Factory Reset.\Press the volume + button. The set will shut
down* but all will be well. Somehow
the EEPROM was corrupted\\\\\\\

This set comes on OK, but when the volume is adjusted the set shuts off
and comes back on within 2 seconds and is either on channel 182, 184 or
195. It does not matter what the starting channel was. I went into
the menu and turned on the speaker and got some audio, but with the same
symptoms. Anybody seen this oddball problem before? Thanks.
