Jeff;
15ufd are not a common caps in out Industry, as you know. I have always
used 10ufd, without any rework. I don't know what the critical circuit
design is in the CTC169 for this regulator IC, but paying $5 for a cap
and paying .35 for a 10ufd, especially now that the slight difference in
price is a Go or no-go.

I am sure that some Fresh Out of College Circuit designer sat down and
figured that this circuit will run at Peak efficiency if the value of
this resistor is this, and the value of this cap is this.

My thought is this....if the TV comes on after using a 10ufd
over 15ufd..go for it.

Many components have changed in value over the years, in that regulator
circuit, and probably RCA has all the 15ufd in separate bags, with their
own special little part number stamped on it. Probably the reason none
are left out there, or overpriced.

Someone that is a Thomson ASC, can query the head RCA technician and get
a firm answer on this.

I feel relatively safe stating that since the CTC169 regulator problem
has been documented, 10ufd over 15ufd, don't amount to a "Hill of
Beans".;-)

CTC169 life expectancy only has another 4 years, if that.
