There is a Thomson bullitin on this very subject that corrects a power on
reset problem with the F2PIP module. I can send you this PDF but can't seem
to get Mike Jensen's email address, it doesn't come up in the reply like
Philips did below.

intermittently when using sets tuner. Will shut down every time using
external input whenever no video signal is present--such as during cable box
channel change or input change. Unit will usually turn back on as long as
signal is present. Have not seen unit yet, symptom reported by installation
crew. Seems like I saw something about this but couldn't find a listing.
