Darrell, I think what you have there is a VH-5145XQ and the most common reason for those symptoms is a worn idler tire or dirty sensor. You might want to pull-up the take-up reel and clean the underside of it and the sensor. Put a new idler tire and pinch roller in it and see if that cures the problem. Hope this helps. The SMPS voltages seem to be within acceptable range. The Vcr passes the hard rap test and none of power supply components are running > warm/hot. I don't have a service manual for this unit. > Any suggestion will be appreciated. > TNX > Darrell Goodrich/ > Goodrich Electronics > Lubbock,Texas > goodrich@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > ------------------------------------------ > Make your TechAssist database better! > Submit Repair Tips here: http://www.tech-assist.org/secure/tip/ > ------------------------------------------ > To UNSUBSCRIBE your email address, click here: > mailto:techassist-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe > Or send a BLANK email with unsubscribe in the > SUBJECT field to the address above. ------------------------------------------ Make your TechAssist database better!
