Customer said they had changed a transistor and set worked. When I took everything apart I found HO transistor was shorted. Previous tech had replaced original with generic. I was surprised to NOT find original equipment transistor in my van and was also forced to install generic replacement. Set immediately fired up w/ perfect picture and I buttoned set up. Exactly 5 weeks later (January 29th) the customer called again with a dead set problem. I returned and found HOut shorted again. This time I replaced with factory original, redid solder connections on hor driver transformer, changed .33 ohm resistor(it was ok) and because customer "remembered" that set popped once before going out each time I used RCA PTV sealant on each CRT... Surprise! Today is exactly 5 weeks and guess who called with dead set AGAIN? > > Suggestions?????? > > Thanks! > > Gary > Valley TV > Berwick, Pa office > > > -- > > _______________________________________________ > Sign-up for your own FREE Personalized E-mail at Email.com > http://www.email.com/?sr=signup > > > ------------------------------------------ > Make your TechAssist database better! > Submit Repair Tips here: http://www.tech-assist.org/secure/tip/ > ------------------------------------------ > To UNSUBSCRIBE your email address, click here: > mailto:techassist-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe > Or send a BLANK email with unsubscribe in the > SUBJECT field to the address above. > > ------------------------------------------ Make your TechAssist database better!
