Important! DO NOT try to measure the voltage across the lamp...It'll blow any meter-any scope-anything!! Defeat the door switch with the lamp in place and listen for a subtle tik tik tik or squh-wee type sound which indicates the ballast is firing. If not the main DC voltage to the ballast can be anywhere from 250 to 380 V, since it comes from a voltage doubler expect about 320 Vdc. Jerry is right about lamp life, just like any TV turning it on and keeping it on is better than turning it on/off for every show being watched. Reduces the amount of stress from start up. Check for filters, and proper fan operation too. I think the filter on this unit is accessable from the front -center near the top of the light engine if memory serves me correctly.
