At first, I over-examined and over-removed things from the CRT assembly and
made twice as much work as needed. Then I started to minimize removal.....so
now it's pull the CRT/yoke assembly.....remove 4 screws, 4 extra screws if
Crt screwed onto coolant chamber, pop seal, pour out, wash with water, dry,
re-gasket, new coolant, re-bolt, set aside on paper towel. Go to next
one....Get both done, and check for leaks....etc.

Used to take 3-4 hours, now done in 2-2 1/2 on most..

| I generally charge $250-$300 including fluid, depending on time &
difficulty
| to remove crt assy. A little less if set is brought into shop by customer.
| I've never had to replace a gasket. I would never try to do this job in
the
| home. Too risky & requires special tools plus there's no way to check for
| slow leaks.

| I am not familiar with this brand of Projection TV. The first complaint
| is the coolant is cloudy and dusty inside on the blue and green guns.
| The red looks like new. Do I need to get a kit to repair this or can I
| replace the fluid without new parts? What do you guys charge to replace
| coolant?
|
| Second problem is the set takes about a minute to come on with HV and
| picture. The volume comes on instantly. TIA.
