A receptionist that we had who previously worked for a collection agency
taught me that trick. After she left I had to do it about a half dozen
times. Never did a bank refuse payment on a one-time bounced check if there
was enough money in the account for it to clear. Sometimes the bank would
only give me a bank check. A couple would only give me a cashiers check, for
which there was a fee. One bank gave me cash. The problem with redepositing
is that it has to get in line with other checks so it might bounce again.
When you call the bank to check on wheather the check will clear, ask if you
can bring it in for payment. If you dont like the answer, ask to speak to a
supervisor and you might get a different answer.
