Hello peggs,
The first one we seen, had a power supply module, which fed only +12 and +5 to
the main signal board and HV board to drive the backlight. The power supply was
pulsing, like it was trying to come up. (The +12 line) If we hooked a regulated
power supply to the +5 and +12 lines, the monitor would come up. I decided to
put a bulb on the 12v line for load while troubleshooting it.... and it stayed
lit. The supply seemed to need more load to regulate. No docs, and all
componets I checked seemed good. Final solution: added couple resistors to
"pre-load" the supply, as it did not need much. The resistors never get hot,
and unit was tested several days.... Sent it home and have not come back. Was
very weird fix, If you can call it that. It made me nurvious, but seemed to
work. I can't remember what it was, just an "off brand" monitor.

 Thanx,
