There is another possibility Where did you get your BUH517? I have found
that ones with date code 9556 are usually bad. they overheat and fail in the
manner you describe. (interally they look like reproduction parts--silicone
seal over the die, a tinned heatsink, and a 30% smaller die, the original
had a Copper substright and no silicone)
