Is it the Driver for the HOT ?

Its the same as the NTE2394
http://www.nteinc.com/specs/2300to2399/NTE2394.html

Sounds like someone was in there and replaced it - no mfr uses NTE
components.

This 17" monitor manf in 1997 has an excellant pix but after 5/10 minutes
will start to cycle on & off.If I freeze spray Q601 it restores normal
operation. The # on this part is SEM 2394.It looks like a 3 pin
transistor. Is this a mosfet or a normal bipolar transistor? It's mounted on
a large heatsink.& is a TO3 package.Is there a sub I can use for test or
replacement of this part........TIA.........
