Brian: Dent puller with a slide hammer. Body shops now have the weld tabs
that work with a puller and then you grind off the tab and the weld after the
dent is pulled. I have used a poor man solution to the weld tab and pull
scheme. Take about a 6mm bolt 1/4' or so also works and is cheaper, weld on,
pull, grind off. I made some pulling blocks, drilled a series of 1/4" holes in
the block, bought a very long threaded 1/4" rod, welded on in the dent, pulling
block over the bolt, nut on top and slowly tigntened, pulling dent, cut of rod
with cutting wheel, grind smooth. Made several pulling blocks out of oak
various shapes to fit work.

getting some work done. i came across this little
trouble area here.

now the bus apparently got hit hard on the rear top area the air intake vent
has been replaced, you can see the spot welds and they are fresh. i think
that whoever just welded a new intake vent to the banged up frame around the
window. here is the big question i pulled out up to a quarter of an inch
thick big ol' piece of bondo how in the hell do i pull out this dent. notice
it doesn't sit flush with the body line behind it. also notice how it goes
in behind the window. it should sit flush with the rubber trim. i can't
access this from the inside. one solution that has been given is to cut
along the edge where it goes into the window area and pull the dent out as
much as possible then reweld it back together. the problem with that is what
does it do to the metal that is inside of this pillar? i only want to use
bondo as a smoother not a filler. i.e. to smooth out the waves in the body
and tiny door dings that can't be beat out. i am aware that i will have to
use some bondo in this area to make it look perfect but how can i bring most
of this out:
