Have a play with the delay settings, even changing it to 0.1S and it should be ok. I wonder what the default is if there is a zero option too?

Yes, without playing about with the settings it's almost as if TALKS is talking ahead of itself.

I have an N82 and am playing with the delay setting. On default I find that if I arrow down quick, Eloquence can still be saying the end of new message and start saying Inbox at the same time. I didn't know that was possible! I changed it a little and its ok now. I notice that Eloquence seems to finish what it is saying before moving on rather than just reading giving first impressions that it is sluggish.

Hi Philip.

First and foremost, the talks audio subsystem has been updated, so talks is more snappy and responsive on most phones, plus you can use eloquence voices to perform operations whilst your on a call such as adding contacts, looking up numbers and other phone functions related to calling IE putting the call on hold etc. Also, you get the daisy player so if you have access to a source of daisy books, you can enjoy them without the need to carry additional devices. These are probably the two main reasons for upgrading.

All the best, Ibrahim.

HI list,
I have downloaded Talks Ver 4 in place of my Talks 3 premium and an told that my license has expired. When trying to re register I am told it is invalid. I have now reinstalled ver 3 and unless there is something really desirable with Ver 4 I won't bother.

Regards
Philip

Hi.

I'll answer both your questions. Firstly, the daisy player, although unofficially available has not yet been released, this because the documentation has not been prepared. Secondly, the apps your talking about were bundled with an early version of talks, version 3.2 and earlier so I understand. They won't work on the newer phones as they haven't been updated to work on third edition handsets.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Subject: [talks-uk] Additional Apps With Talks 4.0

Hi,

I have downloaded and installed Talks 4.0 on my Nokia N96. I saw reference in some of the documentation to "Daisy2Go", yet I have not located an installation file for this. Could someone please point me to where I can download it? In addition, I have read about 5 apps from a Polish company, including "Mini GPS" and "Extended Recorder", which are supposed to be bundled with Talks Premium. When I received my Talks Premium, these were not included and I am led to believe that they are meant to be free to Talks users. If anyone out there has located these apps, could you please give me some directions on downloading them?
Many Thanks, With Kind Regards,

Charles Nicol

[talks-uk] TALKS 4-my first impressions

Just had a quick play with TALKS but already some great improvements:

Very good that you can assign a different key as the TALKS key
Now you can review ringtones without the need to mute TALKS
When composing a text it announces numbers when you are in the to field and the state of upper/lower case when in the message field
Feedback when a message is sent
TALKS can be used while on a call and indeed announces when you are making a call who to etc

I am sure I will be impressed equally with all the other improvements I haven't yet discovered! Well done Nuance, best update in a long time.
