Hi Paul.

This has happened to me on my 6680 on a couple of occasions. This could be one of two things. Firstly, these phones use a very advanced operating system with many components and internal functions. The phones contain processing power similar to that of mid-late nineties computers. Therefore, the software they run can crash from time to time and in this case, the phone may reset itself. You won't know this is happening as this is intended to be done in the background, but if you can't operate the phone or keys don't respond, there has probably been a conflict resulting in a reset.

The second possibility depends on how old the phone is. If you have had the phone for some time and use it regularly, the battery in the phone may have weakened such that it is no longer able to hold charge capacity. You will know when this happens if the phone switches itself off for know reason on a regular basis, or displays low battery indications even after short periods of use. The only remedy in this case is to replace the battery. Contact your nearest nokia servicing centre to find out the appropriate battery model number.

Hope this helps, Ibrahim

Subject: [talks-uk] phone query

Hi all,

On Friday night I charged up my Nokia 6600 and before going out, I switched
it on.

I entered my pin code and that went through without any problem. I then got
to the main part of the screen ready to call my taxi.

As I went to do this, I couldn't get any sound from my phone and when I
attempted to ring my mobile via my land line, I discovered that for some
reason it had switched itself off.

I switched back on again and all was well.

Could someone please explain to me how this might have happened as I didn't
even press the button on the top to turn it off.

I am baffled so any help would be appreciated.

Regards

Paul.
