Ummm, I'm extremely happy with the N96 and given a little more time I think it's going to be a great piece of kit. I think talks sounds absolutely fine on it compared to the 7610 I've had, but can't comment on how it sounds on other models. I find the keypad no problem at all and with a little more time, I'm sure the functions like the BBC's i player will be available in the UK on the handset. I've got the program, but it seems like it's only available via wi fi. Only thing that bugs me is the battery life. Does anyone know what impact talks has on a handset?, as it really drains quick and I'm not sure if this is due to talks or what, cheers Steve.

Hi Paul, Do you know what version of Office is on there? Is it an old version by chance? I don't have an N96 to try this with, but that is good news. I must admit, I am a little disappointed with the N96, it has a hell of a spec, but Talks is laggy on it, compared to other phones like the N82 and the 6220 classic. It also sounds kind of tinny and disembodied, and quiet. This is not important to everyone, but with all the hype around the N96, it is a bit of a let down. I am glad it reads office for you though. What about Word files? I had quick office on the old phone, as I do on the new phone. Talks did not work with quick office on the old phone but, so far as I have tried up to now, to my great surprise, Talks was reading an excel sheet on my new phone! Not perfectly, I grant you but, I could read the information in each cell (in this case, it was a rota). Sometimes, the information in the cell was not spoken but, I cursered up or down one cell and back to the cell I wanted to read and that worked. We spoke of things impressive with Talks so far, but, that is one fantastic leap in my opinion. I have no idea why it should work but, it does! Just hope it will with the new release of Talks!
