Hi Steve

Well you have convinced me. Trying out predictive text on the E71 and yes, I am
now a convert. Even on a qwerty keypad it makes texting much quicker. Will keep
practicing!

Hi Barbara,

Because you will text even faster if you learn it.

Let's consider the word Chocolate. Just one word. To type that without
predictive, you would type this:- (Note that I have spaced between the
letters for clarity only.

222 44 666 222 666 555 2 8 33

Bring predictive into the mix, and you type:-

2 4 6 2 6 5 2 8 3

So instead of 18 key presses you actually perform 9.

The way predictive works is this. You hit each letter only once. If the
word is wrong that it guesses, you press Star to cycle through the words.
So for example, Good and Home have the same numbers, 4 6 6 3. If you just
type 4663, you will get Good. If you want home, just press Star. Now that
has to be better than typing 4 666 666 3 for Good, doesn't it?

Come on people, give it a try, you may even find you like it. In fact I
reckon most of you are frightened of it that don't like it <Smile>.

All the best

Steve

I never got the hang of it either. Probably could if I bothered to try.
Guess I'm just to lazy. But if you can text quick enough without it then why
put yourself to the effort!

Predictive text is brilliant with or without a qwerty keypad! :-)

Hi Angela if you have a querty keypad then pridictive texting is brilliant.
I use to struggle with it when I had a numeric keypad phone.
