Hi Eleanor, Does it open accessibly in JAWS? Can you read it? It is my tribute to my late Guide Dog Pedro. I suppose I could put it on as a Word document, and then save as text, only then I guess I would loose my images of Pedro and my new dog Neela. It may be password protected, or an image. I have managed with Barbra's hellp to save a Word file as Text and then to be able to open and read it. I thought that was excellent. Pity about the PDF. I tried and like you say when I went to open it said, not supported. I would have thought though if Adobie is there then it would have at least opened and that a sighted person could have a read it, otherwise why have Adobie reader there? I guess the Adobie Reader helps people open files on line. In windows, we have MSAA, Microsoft Active Accessibility. MSAA is built into all Windows operating systems. Acrobat PDF Reader utilises MSAA to read PDF files by virtualising the text, putting it into a virtual buffer. Your phone is not Microsoft. Your phone also does not have MSAA built into it. So if your phone does not have MSAA or any kind of accessibility bridge built into it, then currently, and I say currently, you will no way read PDF files with your phone in any shape or form. Nokia have not to date any plans that Nuance know about as far as I am aware, to add MSAA or any kind of accessibility bridge to phones, but they might. This is why I say you will not read them as of today. This may change in the future, but I am explaining to you the technology as it is here and now. I hope this helps. If jaws can read pdf and Supernova to, then I am sorry that Talks cannot. It is not beyond the relms of possabilities.
