Hi Eleanor, Yes, predictive makes the phone read kind of word by word. It reads thefirst char, then the whole word. Turn that off if you want to read char bychar. There is a cycle where you press TALKS followed by the long press of keypad number two to skip between letters, words and original. When you get to Cursor Mode Is Letters, you leave it there, and you should then be able to arrow through your text letter by letter. Remember that this is not to be confused with TALKS key followed by just pressing number two on your keypad. You must hold down the number two key until you hear TALKS announce whichever mode it is in, letters, words, or original. I hope this clarifies that for you. When my Wayfinder Access would not work, you very kindly gave me the code over the telephone. I decided that in event of me being locked out again from WFA I would make a note of the Key. This I did in notes. When I went to access the key, i.e. read the key so that I could put it in again. I could not access it character by character even though I had the cursor set to read character by character. It insisted on reading the initial character followed by a word. for example W wayfinder A access C code T which was the first letter of the code followed by a sort of word from the other letters. Now what is going on here? Eleanor ________________________________ I am using the Free version of SPAMfighter <http://www.spamfighter.com/len> We are a community of 5.7 million users fighting spam.
