Hi Darren,

Actually, they didn't. It seemed to take ages for that message to get
through. I posted it a good couple of days ago.

All the best

Steve

Steve

I did stop for ages; everyone else carried on. I got tempted once or
twice more, can't remember now. Consider me out of here on this one.

No, you need a watch that is so big it hardly fits your wrist, even if
you have big wrists!

And it has to look as if it has been built from a recycled stainless
steel sink!

And to complete the package, a larger than necessary round black speaker
on the top of the watch which builds the sound volume to something akin
to a screaming child at feeding time.

...It will fall apart anyway in no time so, don't worry, there will be
plenty of opportunity to buy another one.

...Louder rooster on mine please.

In fact, I miss that thing so much, I am gonna have to see if I can make
a ringtone!

...So, off to the local blind resource centre for me to record an RNIB
watch or two I think!

I just can't understand why RNIB and various other commercial companies
haven't cottoned on to the idea that not all blind people are
stereo-typical dark glasses, white stick and nasty tacky plastic rooster
touting talking watch kind of people! None of the talking watches
available are particularly sexy to look at lets face it, especially not
compared to watches for fully sighted people, not even the metal ones.

I've seen some incredibly sexy rectangular face watches for fully
sighteds that just look like they're a continuation of the wrist strap,
and something like that would be really nice with a voice.

I know someone is bound to say that the components required to make a
watch talk are too bulky for such a design, but that's utter nonsense!
The components can be made to fit a much smaller housing than the
talking watch housings currently available.

Matt

Oh you mean that stupid excuse for a mobile phone, that is so
rediculously expensive, so revolutionary that you can't even text
properly on it? I looked at one and all I wanted to do when I saw it was
to put my foot through it. What a peace of junk of I ever did see one!
