Can you post a link as to where we can learn about this watch?

Neil, how about the Tissot TSilent? Elegant, good brand and appealing to
both sighted and blind people alike. With its touch sensitive face it's the
coolest gadget I've seen in the past few years me thinks! Tissot designed
that watch to be used by the sighted user but added the pulsing feature to
make it usable by the VI. Don't I just love this philosophy; that what
manufacturers should aim for where ever is possible. The new IPods are
another example of that. I'll let you in on another secret! I was told that
Citizen is following suit and they're designing a watch that won't look less

appealing than the TSilent. Instead of the pulses, the Citizen watch will
use intermittent beeps to indicate the time. However, I've never seen that
promised watch; a Citizen dealer mentioned it to me and said that it's to

be released in the very near future. I'm just waiting to test it myself and
see if it really can be used by the blind and then definitely will post a
message about it, after I get myself one of course! :)

Cheers,
Amro

I agree,

Does anyone out there know where we can buy aesthetically pleasing blind
watches etc? there must be a supplier out there?

I just can't understand why RNIB and various other commercial companies
haven't cottoned on to the idea that not all blind people are stereo-typical
dark glasses, white stick and nasty tacky plastic rooster touting talking
watch kind of people! None of the talking watches available are particularly
sexy to look at lets face it, especially not compared to watches for fully
sighted people, not even the metal ones.

I've seen some incredibly sexy rectangular face watches for fully sighteds
that just look like they're a continuation of the wrist strap, and something
like that would be really nice with a voice.

I know someone is bound to say that the components required to make a watch
talk are too bulky for such a design, but that's utter nonsense! The
components can be made to fit a much smaller housing than the talking watch
housings currently available.

Oh you mean that stupid excuse for a mobile phone, that is so
rediculously expensive, so revolutionary that you can't even text
properly on it? I looked at one and all I wanted to do when I saw it was
to put my foot through it. What a peace of junk of I ever did see one!
