So if I understand right it's not really worth connecting an external drive to a Blade system. #1 I looked up in the Tech Manual, the Blade 2000 only has USB 1.1, only the Blade 2500 now have USB 2.0. So using USB means waiting hours for the data-transfer .... Time to feel confident about having spent 30000 EUR on a modern system .... :-)) #2 Firewire isn't supported. I wonder why the machine has two connectors then. two cameras?? Or just for advertisement reasons? So rather try to buy a "consumer drive" and use a SCSI converter??? To Larye D. Parkins: > Depending on how you need to share or move files, it might be cheaper and less hassle to install a CD-burner in the Blade? I was actually thinking of installing a DVD-burner, especially because a slot in the "periferal assembly" is still so empty and the DVD-drive so lonely :-)) But there are no SCSI DVD-burners around as far as I know. And the Blade 2000 has no IDE connector, only SCSI ... But if anyone has experience in using an IDE drive with a SCSI converter, I'll be happy to hear about suggestions! The amounts of data I'm talking about: 100 to 200 GB. So not really a mini-van full. It seems all my attempts to get some of the connectors at the back of the Blade occupied are in vain ..... ---------------------------------------------------------------- Sent using Phorum software version 3.4.4 <http://phorum.org>
