As part of the Sugar Shot to Space re-organization, the Weekly
Activity Report will be replaced with News Briefs. These will be short
summaries that are intended to convey new developments that are
expected to be of interest to Team members and SS2S supporters. News
Briefs will generally be event-driven, rather than being posted at
regular intervals.
---------------------------
The following is a summary of project plans for the near future, as
envisioned by Rick Maschek:

"I am looking to static test a 4-grain 75mm motor at FAR on September
6th and fly the sustainer on September 20th. It has s beefy stainless
steel nozzle to prevent damage from any anomally and will be turned
down later. I also want to static test the 4.5" (114 mm) booster on
September 20th. Then fly the booster October 4th and the combination
2-stage on October18th. If all works as planned, I have a 6-grain case
for the sustainer that will be static tested on November 1st after
enlarging the throat of the 75mm motor, and exhaust cone for 6-grains
and perhaps a second flight of the booster alone. Then if all goes
well, fly it November 15th. A good flight will give us time for a
second full flight in December. I want to do lots of flights to show
reliability of our hardware and generate interest. My goal is to have
this proof of concept 'MiniSShot 2-Stage' done by the end of this
year.

Rick encourages feedback on these plans, as well as any other aspect
of re-organized SS2S.
