It seems that those few that I know that have it working are using a setting in the record volume control settings called "stereo mix" that apparently combines the input from WAV, mike, and maybe some other sources and sends them all to the recording device. I have tried it once and, as you can imagine, the combining of all these inputs increased the volume hugely. At that point you are back to doing huge adjustments of each of the volume controls to get rid of an unbelieveable amount of distortion.
