I’m not surprised by it, but I didn’t think they had the guts to do it. There’s
a lot that has to play out, he has to perform, he can get a good contract that
is cap friendly if he does well or the Steelers can get a good compensatory
pick if he does well and then leaves.
Or it becomes one of the worst draft day trades in team history (though the
knee injury in year 2 derailed everything)
One other note, lovely detail from Peter King today that the Steelers beat the
Ravens to Calvin Austin, who the Ravens coveted with one of their 4th round
picks.

resign him if he has a good year, but if he has a good year, isn't it going
to cost more than the $10m he would get in the option year?
The flip side of course being that he has another bad year, then you're stuck
with an underperforming LB eating up $10m of your cap......

Subject: [steelers_pb] Notes
- Steelers decline the 5th year option on Devin Bush. Not a surprise, he’s
now playing Bon an expiring contract for his future.
- Justyn Ross signed with Kansas City
Full draft review for the Steelers and the other 31 teams will follow when
I’ve run out of tape to watch.
