What RR has done is make a rule in his email client like this :
If email from STAN arrives, DELETE it before it goes to the In Box.
As far as this list is concerned, all emails are sent to all subscribers
immediately upon their receipt.
Only non-subscribers are blocked.
If you're a subscriber all received email goes immediately to all
subscribers.
Your email program probably has filters you can use.
Mine does. I use Thunderbird, also I use mutt.

so an automatic block would have to be on an individual on that list to
