I've just checked my phone again, and I've definitely stopped the emails
downloading. I had to do both my Gmail and Bigpond accounts separately.
Otherwise I cannot think why it works for me and not for others. I agree
about the inadequacies of the email app. My reason for stopping emails is
that I find that sometimes when I open an email I end up down the bottom of
it, and I can't find a way to scroll the page down to get to the top.

Yes, I thought I had fixed it, but emails are still coming in.
I too have the sinc set to "Never". It is very dissapointing that we are not
getting any assistance with this from Pacific Vision.
I also cannot delete messages in bulk, one at a time only.

Sync is set to never but the emails keep downloading.
It is not a big deal I guess, but a bit annoying and, because I use the pop
protocol, older emails keep downloading each time I delete the current
emails.
Can't find a way to mark all emails to delete them in one go, just one
message at a time. Oh joy.
I now just want to find how to delete my account from the phone.

You should not need to delete password. Just ensure it is set to Never
Download.
