Someone may have harvested email addresses from the si list. I recently
received the email below and checked it out. A friend in Japan says that the
supposed company does not exist in Japan and the website is bogus. The Japanese
phone numbers are not registered, and the Japanese text is nonsense word salad.
The whois address is actually in San Mateo, CA. Everything about this reminds
me of shady "companies" that promise a high fee for North American partners to
"receive packages" and "confirm contents" then repackage them to a third
address. Very shady, run away.
