Kevin, There is some confusion out there regarding the difference in prop delay and flight time. Flight time has been defined in several books and papers but I'm not sure eveyone speaks the same language. This is how understand it. Propagation delay is the delay of the transmission line. Flight time includes propagation delay plus an additional component which is sometimes called delta Tco. This delta Tco component is the difference in buffer Tco for the standard reference load vs the Tco for the actual load. Depending on what the reference load is compared to the actual load, flight time can be shorter or longer than propagation delay. We like to use 0pf reference loads so that flight time is always greater than prop delay. You measiure flight time by measuring delay to the receiver then subtracting the buffer delay into the reference load. Brian P.
