I think you are out of luck. SATA isn't subject to human installers punching down connections backwards like Ethernet is. I doubt there is any perceived market need to handle PCB design errors. I am pretty sure that polarity sensing / flipping is not available on SiliconImage parts. I doubt it is available on anyone else's. Steve.
