Vrenda,

The X2Y web site www.xy2.com has an application note that I wrote for 
extracting capacitor parameters.  That method uses S21.

A couple of points:

1. The smaller the test board the better to extract the ESL of a raw 
capacitor.  A 2x2 board will up to 500MHz or so.
2. The simple single RLC model is overly pessimistic at high 
frequency.  See the DesignCon 2005 TK7 proceedings.
