Hi folks,
first of all let me thank all of you whio replied to my post .

All suggestions have been really useful.

Actually this application is a printed antenna and for several reasons it is
necessary to have such large thickness
there are just 4 dielectric layers biut it is needed to have such large
thickness.

Again thanks to everyone

Giancarlo

Hello Giancarlo,
I guess the first question one should ask is: What is the reason for the
thickness requirement? Do you need such a large number of layers (or very thick
dielectrics between copper layers), or is it a purely mechanical reason, e.g.
to get sufficient stiffness? If the latter, something like an aluminum
stiffener conbined with a thinner board would probably be a better solution.
Even if it is the number of layers, there could be ways to reduce total
thickness - I have seen tester load boards that had to route several power
planes as well as a couple of thousand signal lines across the board yet none
of them ever exceeded about 5mm / 0.2 inches.

The more we know about the application the easier it is for other people to
come up with good and/or innovative suggestions you may not have thought of.

Regards,

Wolfgang

David,
Photochemie's limit is 6.5mm.

For 10mm I only know one supplier in China, and I can't recommend them for
SI-PCBs. But I also can't recommend 10mm thick PCBs for SI-applications.

Giancarlo,
Have you thought about Multi pressing with two separate plating processes?
Similar to HDI technologie, that's two ready 5mm PCBs that are bonded together
with a prepreg, then the thru drill and plating of the thru vias only, and
etching of the outer layer.
Might be the best option for Processing and SI.

BR
Gert

Hi Giancarlo,
How about Indian producers. Let me know your PCB details if you are OK with it

thanks
