Dear Boris,
If I may make a rather lower-brow analogy: consider the capacitor as a 
McDonalds Big Mac (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Mac) with the meat 
representing dielectric and the bread representing the plates.

The top and bottom plates are connected to the circuit, the middle plate 
is not connected.

How does the inductance in this configuration change as compared with a 
standard parallel-plate capacitor? (I am assuming the capacitance is 
reduced to half and the breakdown voltage is doubled.)
