There is a vacation flag that can be administered(on a personal basis) at
the end of EVERY mail from the SI list.
or to administer your membership from a web page, go to:
//www.freelists.org/webpage/si-list
just type your email address, then hit the vacation on/off button from the
pulldown.
Really easy, and it will keep the tech content on the board, and not off
board in person to person conversations(no one likes getting OOO spam). I
learn a lot from just watching the replies to other people's questions, and
would like to see it be as painless as possible to post to the list.

p.s. - Just as a disclaimer, I have nothing to do with the list besides
watching it and *VERY* occasionally posting for the exact reason this thread
was started. I don't like watching my inbox fill up with junk. Most of my

Thank you, Kevin, for bringing this to the surface. Those of you who don't
contribute to the SI List, PAY ATTENTION to Kevin's words, and drop the "out
of office" automatic response ( its an ego thing anyway). Such garbage makes
one NOT want to comment on the important technical matters that all of us
learn from on this list.
