Hi,
Well, from a tech standpoint, when attached to the ground planes you will
get a heat spreading effect that should improve your cooling.  In the world
of ROTS, you may well have a conductive core, bringing out heat to
wedgelocks that conduct the heat to the chassis.  IMHO, I would bet you can
find closer probe ground attach points than your heat sink anchors.

I would suggest as an alternative, consider what you are looking to probe,
look for a local ground and if not available then have cad just add a
ground via in close proximity and label in SS for easy finding.

Off the top of my head, I can't come up with a bad reason to ground your
heat sink.
