Hi Nikita,
I would do a simple numerical experiment suggested by J. C. Rautio a while
back.
It is called "zero length through". Create a model of a straight
transmission line segment (microstrip in your case) with two ports on the
opposite sides with the phase reference planes shifted exactly to the middle
of the segment. The result should be S11 = S22 = 0 and S12=S21=1. Any
deviation from that is the error. Next, investigate dependency of the error
from the segment length and you will get the answer on your question.

Hello,
Is there a relation between the physical length being de-embedded out of a
structure (microstrip - DUT - microstrip) and accuracy of de-embedding in
the 2-20GHz range for HFSS? Is there some limitation on the
electrical length on either side of the DUT that cannot be accurately
de-embedded for this frequency range and could cause spurious spikes in the
S-parameters?
