[SI-LIST] Co-Planar Waveguides With Ground Plane Beneath

Hello,
We are simulating an RF bandpass filter using both Mentor Graphics (MG) and AWR
Microwave Office. The layout implements a coplanar waveguide with a ground
plane 10 mils beneath it. In MG we are using a finite ground plane, and we had
connected an advanced extension port pair to the signal (+1) and ground (-1).
When we simulated the filter response in MG 3-D EM tools, we got very poor
results, and I now believe it is because we did not connect ports to the
adjacent ground planes surrounding our signal on the top routing level. We are
currently attempting to compare the results of MG and AWR for this circuit, and
to correct our port connections, but it has been difficult to find any examples
of how this should be set up.
Is there anyone in this group who has either set up such a port structure or
knows how to do so that could get back to me? It may be that it is as simple as
connecting more of the (-1) advanced extension ports; however, the simulation
takes many many days, so any help getting it right the first time would be
appreciated.
