Most of the board level simulators allow you to write spice passive device models and use them. Hyperlynx allows this as does Cadence Allegro PCB SI and almost all simulators whose underlying engine is spice. The trick is to finding out how using the documentation, the support web site/user community site/list, a fellow user, or the support people from your tool vendor. -----Original Message----- From: si-list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:si-list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Daniel.Peron@xxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, November 19, 2004 9:54 AM To: si-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: Jean_Pierre.Bouthemy@xxxxxxxxxx Subject: [Bulk] [SI-LIST] Re: CML ibis model Salut Jean-Pierre, MAXIM has some CML models : http://www.maxim-ic.com/tools/ibis/index.cfm?pn=MAX3265CUB and an application note on the subject : http://www.maxim-ic.com/appnotes.cfm/appnote_number/1788 The use of .slm models in Hyperlynx (Linesim) is very limited : it is only possible to model a transmission line (Z and td) and DC losses. .slm models are sometimes more complex and do not respect the Hyperlynx syntax. They are only usable by a real Spice simulator. Daniel Peron Please respond to Jean Pierre BOUTHEMY/FR/ALCATEL@ALCATEL Sent by: si-list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To: si-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx cc: Subject: [SI-LIST] CML ibis model Hi, Can anyone give me some references of IBIS models for CML drivers and receivers (or transceivers) for Hyperlynx simulation? Other question: has anyone of you ever use a Spice model of a connector (not available in ibis) and rename it as a ".SLM" file in order for Hyperlynx to recognise it? I have tried that on a Spice model for a Teradyne Nexlev connector, but it is not recognised in the Hyperlynx connector browser.
