Lee, Ethoxyquin is highly toxic and is a known carcinogen. Many pet food manufacturers stopped adding it to their foods several years ago. However, if a manufacturer purchases their "meat base" (which many do) from a rendering plant, and the rendering plant uses ethoxyquin, the manufacturer is not legally obligated to list it as an ingredient because he didn't "add" the chemical.
