Mary-Anne if you would like the pedigree of my GSD's just let me know.

Yes, it is inherited my GSD's are proof of that.

Check this website out for those that do not believe it is inherited.

I did e-mail Jaime F. Modiano awhile ago and sent him the information
I had so far. Yes, he did reply with a thank you and more information.

Many months ago after Magnum was diagnosed with Lymphosarcoma and I started
doing chemo treatments at OVC with him, I tried to start a database for GSD's
that had been lost or were currently ill with cancer.  I sent out pleas for
information to this list, to tracking lists, to agility lists, to obedience
lists and to the 'other' show list.  I also put a full page story in the
Canadian Gazette asking for information and pedigrees and explaining that I
didn't give a damn who the breeder was, that this information would be used by
OVC and by Dr. Chris Zink to determine if there were truly genetic components
to hemangiosarcoma and lymphosarcoma (I lost Misty to hemangiosarcoma 6 months
before Magnum was diagnosed) and if spaying/neutering young contributed to it.

Shall I tell you how many replies I received?  Four!!!!  According to the
statistics, one in eight German Shepherds will die from Hemangiosarcoma and
Lymphosarcoma.  Yet, I hear every week of one or more GSD's dying from these
two cancer diseases alone.
I received answers galore from Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breeders, Corgi,
and Labrador Retriever breeders .

At the moment , I know of 3 GSD's in treatment for cancer and I have a fairly
small circle of acquaintances in the GSD world.

There is information but everyone seems to be sure that they will be 'targeted'
if they admit that it is in their lines.  Such a shame, it sets back research
by 30 years.
