Nicely Stated Evan :) In the end it is a crap shoot. Our GSD's are dying at a
much younger age. The health of our breed in is a serious decline with the
age span. It is sad that the thirteen club is an accomplishment when it should
be the norm. How many times do we see here on the list on the rainbow bridge of
a young GSD passing? Way too often as I see it. That is an issue that needs
addressed in improving our breed, longevity, we can all agrue whose dog is
better, but I believe it is time to focus on health issues, regardless of the
origin, and improve the standard to the point that a life of 13 years is the
expectation, not the exception. Honesty in bloodlines and traits that are
passed on
is key to resolving this health issue. I am responding as I am currently
sitting on the GSD sidelines focused on my Corgi program, and not currently
showing any GSD's, at least for now :)
Thanks Evan for giving me something respond too other than my Masters Degee
Course Work :)
